Is the footbridge open yet?

Nope!

Sounds a bit of a joke really, except of course for the people who wish to use it.

The E&S sell news, what better than to show an old station frontage, with a promise from the govt of a new station.

Am I right to have a suspicion that our station building is actually newer than the buildings on the NR one?

Feel free. I don't think there's any rights or wrongs about having a suspicion.

I believe that is so. The SVR one is 1980s, while according to Wikipedia (the quickest source) the NR one is from ca 1968 when the original one was demolished.
The other week two chaps came in wanting to go to Cheltenham and I had to point them over the road. It's got to be that ours actually looks like a station and is bigger than a shed.

Indeed, and what makes it even more laughable is that they've used my photo from here:- http://www.geograph.org.uk/photo/118920 without any reference to the licensing conditions or permission from myself.

The fact that they've patently obviously failed to read the caption below the original photo just goes to show how their "journalists" are lazy and incompetent!

I can feel a "letter to the editor" coming on.....

That's not laughable. It's breach of copyright. Letter to the Editor, ask for a reproduction fee and a contribution to the charity of your choice for the breach. Go for it!

That's exactly what I have in mind - with an SVR related charity as the beneficiary of course!

For the sake of completeness, can anyone out there who lives within the circulation area for the paper edition of the Express and Star confirm whether the same picture was used in the hard copy edition?

There is an article on the front page of the Kidderminster free E&S with no picture.

"improvements to the bus terminal and traffic signals"

I wasn't aware that there was a bus terminus at the station; but I've read on another forum that buses will go into the station forecourt. The traffic signals will be on the Lea Street/Station Hill junction.
