50031 started today for the first time since 2013 per Gus Dunster on SVR Diesels page on Facebook, in the company of sisters '35 and '49.

Further electrical control system repairs were completed and statically tested on Friday 29th July.
A number of short test runs in the confines of Kidderminster railway station were also undertaken. A video exists of one of the test runs on Facebook (sorry but I don't have access at the moment - but perhaps Mr Hearn can locate it and provide a link). _________________ Joe Burr

After a successful test run on Friday 5th August, 50031 was pressed into service on Saturday 20th August on the regular Diesel diagram. This it completed without issue.
On the same day 50035 was also in service covering for the number of steam locomotives that are currently out of service. This allowed the class 50 enthusiasts to change from one 50 hauled train to the other for the first time since the diesel gala. _________________ Joe Burr

50031 Hood has had its train heating system (ETH) re-commissioned. This will allow it to heat/cool the hired in coaching stock supplied for the 2017 diesel gala.
In due course it is hoped that 50049, 50007 and 50035 will also be able to supply ETH power for the Belle stock. _________________ Joe Burr
