Last time I called at Bewdley I noticed that the refreshment room seating is now in an adjacent Mk1.
Is this because the refreshment room is going to receive an internal makeover, or is the structure now in such a state that it can no longer be safely used?
Are there any plans for this site?

From Express Points April
Quote:
General manager Nick Ralls has announced the closure and future demolition of the Bewdley Buffet building. The Railway’s consultant civil engineer made a recent assessment, and the building’s increasing external dilapidation has led to the decision. Demolition will begin once the relevant permissions have been received and a contractor has been appointed. The toilet block and kitchen, which are both of more recent construction, will remain functional.

A small team of staff have been working on an interim catering solution for catering. An open carriage has been shunted into the dock in front of the buffet and this will be used as seating for staff and the public. Table service will be provided, with the kitchen facilities being used to prepare the food. Footplate Experience courses will be moved in to a temporary building at Bewdley Station.

Further details will be communicated once progress is made on the more permanent catering provision suitable for Bewdley Station.

Thanks Robin.

What is the "word on the street", a new building on the same footprint, or something different?

Yesterday, June 16th, an area around the end of the building due to be demolished was cordoned off, for what looked like asbestos removal, given the warnings, and facilities on site.

As of the afternoon of Thursday 19 July the buffet at Bewdley was well on the way to being history with timber being reclaimed for use as firewood.
