Steam on the Road
A great gathering of vintage steam road vehicles.
A weekend showcasing the very best of steam on the road, and steam on the rails!
Over the years we have seen many traction engines visit the Severn Valley Railway, and in 2018 we'll have a number of road steam vehicles parade to Kidderminster Station for a gathering. From steamrollers, traction engines and steam wagons, to steam trains running on the Railway, take a trip back to the glory years with our summer steam rally.
Attractions include:
• Up to 10 full-size engines and miniatures on display and in operation,
• Road run through Kidderminster each day, culminating with a climb up the hill to Kidderminster station,
• Return of Plimsoll, the road-rail Land Rover (Saturday only),
• The Coalyard Miniature Railway will have steam locomotives in service,
• Live entertainment with local band Blind Lemon at Kidderminster on Saturday evening, in association with Kidderminster Arts Festival (additional charge applies). Visiting engines:
• No. 4093 Dororthy, Burrell Road Locomotive,
• No. 8064, Wallis & Steevens 8 Ton Advance,
• No. 17480 Survivor, Fowler DNB Steam Roller,
• Trotter 1 Ton Steam Roller).
More information to follow.
Normal fares apply.
[Note: Whilst not stated on the SVR web site it may be assumed that all stated attractions & exhibits may well be subject to availability. ].
