One more visiting locomotive will be announced shortly! Here's a clue; the engine is green and has a 7 in its number...

70000 was in steam at Crewe diesel today and would appear to be going on a light test run to Chester next Tuesday and Wednesday.

I normally avoid Gala events because they are so busy, but the line-up emerging for this Gala is going to make it unmissable, in my humble opinion.

Will travel up by rail, the days of arriving at stupid- o- clock to get a car park space are behind me now!

I was under the impression that it is out of ticket for main line work.

The Icons of Steam website says "She is now undergoing an overhaul to return her to mainline running condition" which implies a new ticket. The latest Heritage Railway reports that "Initial testing has been arranged to take place on the Severn Valley Railway. The move to Bridgnorth is, it is understood, to be undertaken by road". The usual caveat on information in railway magazines...

Still outside at close of play yesterday and there are paths with a turning move at Chester on Tuesday and Wednesday next week, although they don't reflect the need to go via Basford Hall, unless they plan to go tender first!

I know this is asked every year but does anyone know when the working timetable is going to be available and will it still be the same price?

Website shows it's 5, as in previous years. https://www.svr.co.uk/Book-Special-Event.aspx?id=164

I know this is going to be hard to believe after the fiasco of the last few years but....the working timetable is already published. I received mine today, a whole 2 weeks in advance. 5, plus the usual 1.75 charge for postage, that they say isn't for postage!
Got locos on the roster, unlike a couple of years ago, you don't have to DIY either! Perhaps they actually have listened to complaints from previous years!

It seems 63395 isn't a definite attendee yet, but a plan B is in place. More details on the 10 Sept entry here:-
