It has changed again Colas can't supply a 60 so instead are supplying a 56 to replace 56 GCR (N) can't provide.

Thanks for the tip

Also available from http://www.svr.co.uk/SEItem.aspx?a=122

The PLEG page has a lot of info too:

Quote:
A trip will take place every day with 09012 and 08015 on the 9.25 ex-Kidderminster to Bewdley and return. They will be double headed each journey and the drivers have been asked to power both locos both ways.

It's looking positive that D2961 (BH Based Ruston) will be out this year on the brakevan rides at Highley but subject to having guards and drivers available after the main service is covered.

All visiting locos work all days with the exception of all the 20s. 20189 will work Thursday and Saturday, 20007 and 20142 will work Friday and Sunday.

We can use 20205 but it has to pair up as it's AO so it has been missed off this time round having worked at the last two galas.

Kidderminster Diesel Depot open for visits on Saturday & Sunday only.

Services will run into the evenings.

Note that:

Quote:
The following passes are NOT VALID during the event: Heritage Railway Passes, Staff Passes from BR, LT, Network Rail and Train Operating Companies such as Virgin Trains and Chiltern Railways, SVR Free ticket vouchers for Adult, Child or Family tickets or any discount schemes normally in operation.

That's slightly different to the reciprocal travel arrangements on SVR Live:

Quote:
On Gala days and certain other 'Special Events' days when there are special timetables in operation, in theory all should provide a reduced rate fare in line with what we do but in practice it varies from similar arrangements to the SVR, to free, to no concessions at all.

EDIT: Phil Ralls has emailed me to say it has been corrected

Other news in there:

Quote:
20205 is staying on though for contract work in the depot so maybe another chance to get it out yet.

50007 will be at Derby still on hire to ROG.

For those considering staying over on Sunday should see 20007 20142 33108 50035 D821 D832 731xx 47292 in action alongside three steamers. We struggled a little to get Sunday through in the same form again this year with several requests being made to return it to steam with one diesel turn so a decent turnout would help us prove its worthwhile.

Thanks again

Patrick

I don't know why SVR doesn't just have a 4 day diesel gala as the mixed traction event puts off diesel only enthusiasts and those general public that think we are a steam railway.

Also I think the organisers are missing a trick with not double heading the warships.

Weight?
Also the multi-working might not be working.

Not attending is 47292 (following 56097, 60xxx, 45060, Class 40). Still 13 visitors though (including the hired 33 and 37)

I note D1062 is no longer listed

I spoke to some of the Western Loco guys at Open House and they withdrew it then as they were not sure if repairs would be completed in time.

I doubt it is weight as they are double heading a 56 and 73.

The 4TC appears to arrive at 16.35 on Monday, not in the early hours as suggested on Sunday's Traffic Notice.
