Hi,

We are now one week away from the start of the event, and there is still no sign of the said document. Is there any more news on a possible publication date? At this rate, it would be easier to collect on arrival, and reclaim the admin charge. If there are still changes being made, is the "public" timetable still valid?

Best regards,

Reg.

Have you contacted the SVR?

I contacted the SVR late last week, and received a reply on Monday saying "Hopefully by the end of the week ( they would be available to collect in person) , but suggested I ring, just in case they are not. The website says they will be sent out by the 15th, which means most people will not get them until Monday, through the post. This happened 2 years ago as well. I realise they want to make sure everything is correct, but they originally sold them to people by saying they would be available "early September"

If you've ordered a Working Timetable, they're being posted out tomorrow!

A bit late really when people have paid good money to have a copy in advance.

I expect S Lench is not the only one to be annoyed that, yet again, the WTT has been sent out too late. The SVR should not say early September when you don't get it until a couple of days before the gala is due to start. 5, or 6.75 in a lot of cases ( for shareholder pass holders) is a lot to spend when you don't even get a weekend to plan in advance. The fact that the public timetable has been available for a while now, and that the plan of engine allocations day by day has also appeared must mean that it has been known for some time which engine is allocated to which train. Whilst all the other information, regarding shunting moves etc. is interesting to me, my main reason for wanting the WTT is to see which engines are on which trains, so that I can plan our movements accordingly. The Railway, yet again, don't seem to be bothered about the enthusiasts, who I know do buy the WTT in quite large numbers. If it is going to be this late, why publish in advance at all, just make it a fiver from the booking office, and make people spend their first few trips up and down he Valley planning the rest of their weekends![/quote]

I agree totally.

I hope mine arrives before I set off for Bridgnorth next week! I don't think I will bother ordering in advance next time, and just go for the "surprise" element, and save 6.95 and buy a pint and a "Reg's Pork Pie".

Regards,

Reg.

I hope this is not a rather daft question but when do the visiting locomotives for the gala turn up at the SVR?

Mine arrived this morning. I notice that the guard of the 1500 from Bridgnorth on Friday is instructed to give 147 at Highley. Can someone explain what this means as I have never heard of it? Thanks.

On arrival of the train the Guard shall confirm to the Signalman that the train has arrived complete with tail lamp.

Thank you very much. That explains it. I must try to find my rule book which seems to have disappeared in the last house move 18 months ago. It's probably in a box which hasn't seen the light of day for a few years.

Still probably to be determined if they are awaiting numbers from somewhere like Hampton Loade.
