Switching to pedant mode. Does that mean it can be in steam until 23:59 on 13th or 14th?

I'm glad I called into Bridgnorth on Sunday then.
I managed a couple of photos which I will post in the Gallery soon. Might be the last I'll see of the 8F for a while!

Does anybody know whether the 8F will be working at Bridgnorth this coming weekend?

It should be, if there are crews avaliable. Not sure how far it will be going though.
But it would be nice to see the 8f climb up Eardington bank for the last time. Smile

this all depends on how the work is going at sterns so fingers crossed it might see hampton before it goes out of traffic

the 8f will be running this weekend but will be doing the normal shuttle runs

Unless the 8F gets it ticket extended (I would have thought that is not on the cards), it won't make Hampton. Something to do with a big patch of mud at Sterns with no track on it, and track near the waterworks needing ballasting & tamping - which can't be done until the ballast at Eardington can be got there by rail.

She certainly looked and sounded well today, and gave a good show for all her friends who arrived to bid her farewell.

yes -- sad event really, but we must have been going for the record for the number of different qualified drivers to drive a loco in one day! I called in briefly, and found myself driving within 2 minutes of my arrival, and even gave my wife her first ever footpate ride !!

Yes, you can even see the line of waiting footplate crew in the photo! I didn't manage to make it yesterday, but thanks Pete for letting me have a final go on her before Xmas (well for the moment...), it was also a novelty to drive a train out of Bridgnorth station!

4566 is the locomotive for this weekend (19/20 January) taking over the Bridgnorth shuttle operation from the 8F - but not quite the same though
