In May/June the SVR website reported:
Quote: | D821, currently away on specialist repair work, is unlikely to be returning to the SVR for the 2014 season due to on-going major repairs |

D821 Warship Greyhound was started today for the first time in a few years. One engine started at roughly 15:35 and the other was started about 16:25. Both took a little while to warm up but once warm where purring along nicely. The loco isn't quite ready to enter traffic just yet still a fair amount of stuff to be done on it. The future is looking bright though as once both engines where started they both ran for about an hour with small run up tests, the loco takes power and was driven into the shed and shut down.
A great day for the Diesel Traction Group.[/b] _________________ Regards

Greyhound is off for a holiday!
A Warship is to visit Tunbridge Wells West!
The Spa Valley Railway is delighted to announce the visit of Class 42 'Warship' No. D821 'Greyhound' for our 2019 Summer Diesel Gala, taking place from Friday 2nd to Sunday 4th August!
D821's visit to the Spa Valley Railway will be the first time the loco has been away from the Severn Valley Railway in around 6yrs! We are extremely grateful to the Diesel Traction Group and Severn Valley Railway for this unique opportunity.
'Greyhound' will arrive in time for the Summer Diesel Gala and then remain on the railway until mid September, regularly operating our passenger trains as well as two Driving Experience Days.
