*Update 5/3/19: unfortunately repairs to GWR No. 1450 will not be completed in time for the event. Therefore, the locomotive will be replaced by Pannier Tank No. 1501, which will be paired with Autocoach No. 178. As No. 1501 is not auto-fitted, the service will not be push-pull.

To all my YouTube "watchers", sorry, but too much to do at the moment and no spare time to go to the Gala.

I'm sure plenty of others will be filming, hope I find some time to watch their videos.

From Facebook @ 12:34pm 15/3/19:

Quote:
*** Spring Steam Gala update ***

Unfortunately, Coal Tank No. 1054 has failed this morning, resulting in the following services being cancelled today:
- 12.10 Kidderminster to Highley
- 14.26 Highley to Arley
- 16.23 Arley to Kidderminster

The 17.45 from Kidderminster to Bridgnorth will now be worked by No. 813 on its own.

An update on the Coal Tank will be available later today. We apologise for the disappointment this will cause.

Good news! #TeamSVR have fixed the Coal Tank!

No. 1054 is now back up and running, ready to work its scheduled services tomorrow.

Our fantastic staff at Bridgnorth have pulled out the stops to make sure you can ride behind one of the star attractions at our Spring Steam Gala tomorrow and Sunday. We'll see you, and the Coal Tank, there...

Nothing much here about the Gala then!

I received a few texts on Saturday and watched a video from that day, didn't seem to be many people around.

Friday seemed to do good business. Saturday started the same way but I think the deteriorating weather and the points problem at Kidderminster meant a number of people including myself left early. The talk and slideshow by the MNA on Saturday evening was excellent. I only popped in on Sunday morning and got as far as Bewdley and back so can't say how busy it was further up the line, but the car park was certainly full. I don't think I've got any master shots to upload to the Wiki - certainly nothing worthy of the MNA...

I could only make the Sunday but it was still thoroughly enjoyable. 1054 is an absolute delight and it was great to have a prairie tank back on the railway.
