Just seen 172339 in new livery at Snow Hill, very appropriate in this weather!

Here is the short video of 172339 in the new livery. I happened to catch a glimpse of unusual colours and lots of people around the train as I was returning home earlier today, realised what it was - so got off at The Hawthorns and caught a train back to Snow Hill. Not easy to film into the sun but there was a shadow across the platform from the roof of the steps/escalator structure making it possible. I went to the other platform, but exits from the steps onto the middle platform were "guarded" so I went to the other side for a quick shoot before I was moved on!!

On my recent travels I have yet to see a train in the new colour scheme. Snow Hill station has had some money spent on it with numerous information signs in the new orange - purple company colours plus I think what are termed 'wrap arounds' on the roof columns. The colours are not to my liking.

More importantly I notice that there is no longer any reference to the SVR on the new territory route map. I am pretty sure the previous map did this and showed Kidderminster as an interchange point. Disappointing.

There is one unit in the new scheme - 172339 - which had been graffitied when I saw it last week. I'm not aware of any other repaints. Snow Hill was done for the launch day.

Extracts from the West Midlands Railway web site [published 12 March 2019].
https://www.westmidlandsrailway.co.uk/about-us/news-desk/worcestershire-herefordshire-and-south-staffordshire-rail-passengers-benefit

Worcestershire & Herefordshire rail passengers to benefit from additional services from May.

- The new timetable will see three trains an hour operating between Birmingham Snow Hill and Kidderminster throughout the day.

- Services between Kidderminster and Worcester will also see an improvement, with additional evening services from 1900 onwards.

- The new timetable will operate from Sunday 19 May. There will be changes to the time and formation of some services, so passengers are advised to check their train times and to plan ahead for the changes. The new timetable is now live on journey planning systems and can be found at www.westmidlandsrailway.co.uk

This forum post is a snapshot extract from an external web site and is not necessarily updated to reflect change. Always refer back to and check the original site to confirm details are still correct.

Plus a note for Reg.

The current WMR downloadable map does show the SVR connecting at Kidderminster, using a very light grey colour. Both Bridgnorth and Kidderminster stations designated as having step-free access.
