I would truly hope not. Having 4 visiting locos which have all been to the line in recent years would be very disappointing. Obviously we can only hire what is available but if the Q6 isn't ready then surely the J27 would be an obvious replacement?

Might I add that we had a standard tank at the spring gala.

I do hope to come along as it all sounds like it will be a very good gala.

Just one comment if I may about the ticket details on the Railway's internet page. Gosh, isn't it so complicated to understand particularly when also reading all the ticket restrictions. Am I right in saying that the rover ticket is the only valid way of having a ride?

Unless you are a shareholder or working member, yes.

This has been the case at galas for many years.

Dear Kjevans, Thank you for the reply. I do think it would all be easier to understand ticket requirements if a simple statement like that was shown rather than listing all the ticket types that are not allowed?

Anyway I am looking forward to this gala.

Have started a topic relating to the Gala in the photographic section with link to first video from the 21st.

Lots more to come but feel free to add your own links, it's not "my" topic.

A very enjoyable day yesterday. Highlights for me were the auto train, the local passenger and the Q6's pathetic whistle Laughing It was a shame there was no freight train though and hopefully that can be rectified next year. I'd also like to thank the volunteers at Arley and Highley for being welcoming and keeping the fires burning once the sun had set.

Now for the moan. The behaviour of a certain element on board the late night trains left a lot to be desired. I didn't pay to witness drunken, loutish behaviour nor the use of foul language in front of children and as a result will probably not use these trains in future.
