Are there plans to reopen the halt?

A little piece of research this afternoon on how to get to Eardington revealed that the Diamond bus route number 125 stops outside the station! That really is convenient if the trains do not call there. The 125 links Stourbridge, Kidderminster, Bewdley & Bridgnorth. On Saturdays there seems to be an hourly service so quite flexible. The web hyperlink to the bus timetable is as follows.

I must pop over and have a ride using my bus pass!

Plus an extract about Eardington station taken from within the ‘Goods Gala’ downloadable leaflet.

Eardington 150

When the Severn Valley Railway opened in 1862, a goods siding, known as Eardington Siding, was opened to serve a local ironworks. Passenger services commenced six years later on 1st June 1868, though the station was sited a little way outside the village it served. The station retained its Station Master until 1931, when responsibility was transferred to the Station Master at Highley, though Eardington retained its Station status, only becoming a Halt in the 1950s under British Railways ownership. Eardington closed in September 1963 along with the rest of the SVR, bringing to an end 96 years of service to the local community.

Eardington has re-opened and closed several times in preservation (possibly an unenviable record!), last featuring in the SVR timetable as a request stop in 1982. Since then the station has seen occasional use, with trains stopping only on special occasions. Part of the platform was dismantled in the 1980s, but rebuilding is now well underway and should be completed during 2018, a fitting 150th Birthday present for the station.

The little station will be open to the public on both days of the event with various special attractions, including; vintage cars, oil lamp displays in the lamp room, velocipede demos with 'have a go' sessions and historical talks. Please note, trains do not stop here.

Eardington Halt open for visits (trains will not stop here).

I assume that bus service no 125 mentioned by Reg in an earlier post may be one way of getting there?
