Please note there will be two additional Class 50 SVR running days this season now on September 19/20 as D9551 is not yet ready for traffic. Usual weekday diagram 1145 from Kidderminster

The Web Round Up has news of D9551 summarised from their closed Facebook page

P.S. Further FB update - The aim now is to have further shake down runs in October and November, then complete modifications and finish the repaint early in the new year. The Group would rather it went into traffic completed and reliable for the 2017 season.

Patrick

Patrick, thanks for the update on that.

I filmed it in April 2016 on a test run, then today, May 2nd 2017, on a test run with 6 coaches at Kidderminster after completing a run to Bridgnorth and back.

The SVR Diesels Facebook site shows D9551 returned by road transport to SVR Kidderminster after its summer holiday on the ELR.

Extract from the SVRLive
http://www.svrlive.com/diesel-hydraulics

October 22nd 2017

Thoughts are turning to winter maintenance work to prepare Angus for a full season of running in 2018, complicated by her being the standby locomotive at Bridgnorth until the end of the running season in early January and the consequent need for her to be serviceable until then. After that, there’s a plan to arrange a working party to do certain mechanical jobs and exhaust repairs.
In the meantime the owning group plan to carry out other work as time and availability allow. A short test trip was made to Highley to get the system hot. A small leak between the head and the block (this is a different head to the one that was sorted at the East Lancs.) will require the roof section to be removed to allow better access and ease visibility to check for any other small leaks.

Thanks Tim - even got back to Kidder, by train of course, just in time to catch a train to Rowley, which was followed by 47812 just minutes later on a Long Marston - Eastleigh working. Two treats in one day!!

D9551 is scheduled to be on AS2 all next week [Mon 18 - Fri 22 June]; it's now been changed on the internal database from "Running Repairs" to "Available", so looking hopeful!!
