Reported on SVRlive as a new arrival for restoration.

Will this be dual braked? ( with the Kidderminster work for Belmond in mind)

I have seen that yes, it is dual braked.

09107's purchase was more cost effective than restoring 08635

I sought clarification from Jonathan Dunster on a few statuses ans these updayes (and Pete's on the SVR website) come from that.

Nearly all, it needs still allocations after 1973 and sectorisation/privatisation details IIRC, I couldn't find them

As currently painted it is unnumbered EWS red and yellow

Extract from SVRLive.
http://www.svrlive.com/diesel-class-08-11

October 25th 2017
09107 was withdrawn for a defective aux generator, this was recently removed from the engine/generator group for assessment. Jeff Atkins has added some photos of what was found.

Extract from SVRLive [published 11 February 2018].

February 11th 2018

The engine and generator of 09107 have been under repair at the TMD, and the engine compartment recently cleaned and painted, The image added shows the engine and generator back in situ after repairs and the loco on the pit for reconnection of cables.

Extract from the SVR News magazine [issue 201, Spring 2018, published March 2018].
Refer to page 49.

09107 (08845)

In June 2017, 09107 arrived on the SVR and is currently undergoing an extensive overhaul at Kidderminster TMD. She will be restored to her 1993 ‘as rebuilt’ condition and turned out in BR blue and carry the number 09107.

Extracts from the SVR News magazine [issue 202, Summer 2018, published June 2018].

1. Refer to page 23.
09107 has been transformed from a scrapyard wreck to a locomotive under test in less than a year, whilst there is still a lot of work to do before it enters regular service; it is a fantastic achievement.

2. Refer to page 46.
.... Sunday 29 April 2018 was a red letter day for the Class 08 Working Group, when 09107 was hauled from the Kidderminster TMD for main engine start up.... [also refer to photograph]
....After warming up, the engine ran sweetly, producing a crystal clear exhaust and oil pressure remained steady at 24 psi. Electrically, the regulated auxiliary generator output also remained steady at 110V and the batteries were trickle charging satisfactorily. Much cosmetic work remains to be done on the loco as can be seen, but happily, its beating heart is now sound.

Photographs and progress report on 09107.

Approximately 18 months ago 09107 arrived at Kidderminster from Kingsbury scrapyard. Today it carried out its first shunt for many a year. Testament indeed to the Shunter Group to their hard work and dedication.
