This of course is 34027 in a period of renaming/renumbering at Phil Swallows interest.

Peter mentions "34045", yes, Taw Valley did run as that loco for a while and I'm sure there will be photos of it here before too long. I have edited the post from a few days ago just in case it causes confusion, but renumbering does happen - as in the S&D weekend many years ago when several locos carried numbers of former S&D locos. Also, I'm sure I saw 4936 carrying the number 4930 when looking through old photos at Arley, but think the nameplate was still Kinlet Hall.

April 14th 2010. Wednesday

Very little choice for this date, but at least it's something different. 73006 can be seen in the distance in this shot at Bewdley.

April 14th 2013. Sunday

1501 was "down south" on the Bodmin Railway and double-heading with 6435.

Just going off topic with a question for Sharpo - Hi - your video of Friday 13th at Kidderminster shows the sleeping cars behind the diesel shed, with the unpainted one at at distinctly lower level to the Intercity. Too many fat controllers in residence perhaps?

I can't comment on that!! Seriously though, I don't know the reason for different levels but is the one coach at original track level and the other connected to the track from the shed. I'm sure somebody can put us right.

6695 entering Bewdley.

April 15th 2012. Sunday

5164 at Arley, and guess who is on the seat, and the other photo shows D821 arriving on the same day.

I had a quick look from near the wooden bridge today and I think you are right. The original track on which the sleeper stands appears to be at a higher level than the top of the turntable because of the natural slope of the land When the land was levelled for the diesel depot, it seems one coach length this side of the depot was levelled and a track run through the shed, but the sleeper was left in situ.

Back to 'on this day' and there are several photos from 2015 and 2017 on the SVR Wiki 15 April page, but none that were particularly date specific. The only ride I recorded was 7812 up and back in 2017, which didnít yield any loco photos worth posting.

50049 Defiance passing Highley. A busy day, as I also managed rides behind 1501, 7802, 7812, 34027 and 34053.

Great pictures as usual Sharpo but I the carriage shed was handed over to SVR on 19th April 2000. Also where was the picture of 37906 taken?

The Carriage Shed was open for visitors on Members/Shareholders day. I also have photos inside the boilershop at Bridgnorth on that day. The photo of 37906 was taken adjacent to the turntable at Kidderminster, in the background you can just see the sleeping coach and beyond that is the footpath to the bridge. That sleeping coach is roughly in the same position today.

Perhaps that was the first time it was open for visitors?
